Setting the Table | No. 8 - Greek-Inspired Night

The Opening

This Greek-inspired menu is the dinner that feels like a warm evening somewhere in the Mediterranean even when you are at your own kitchen table on a Thursday in June. The herbs, the olive oil, the lemon, the pita alongside. The table does not have to try hard when the food is this good.

This is week eight of Setting the Table, a year of fifty-two tables built from the same capsule collection styled for every occasion. Here is everything on this week's table.

The Table

Woven placemats are the base for this table, natural and textural and exactly right for a meal that is meant to feel a little sun-drenched. White entree bowls go on top, simple enough to let the meatballs and the orzo and the salad all do their own thing.

Chocolate brown bistro flatware alongside, warm and a little unexpected against the white bowls. The red poppy tall tumblers and the matching pitcher bring in the color this table needs. Something cold and bright sitting in the center of the table next to all those herbs.

The cane bread basket holds the warm pita, which is doing a lot of work at this table. And the cherry red bobbin salt and pepper shakers are the kind of small, colorful detail that makes a table feel finished. These are currently twenty five percent off, so if you have been thinking about them, now is the moment.

White ramekins round out the table. I love these for everything, and we are actually going to grab a few extras this summer to make the viral dot cakes that have been all over my feed.

The Menu

This menu is built for a table where everything lands at the same time and stays there. Family style, unhurried, the kind of dinner where people are still pulling pieces of warm pita through the tzatziki long after the meatballs are gone.

Chipotle and rosemary roasted nuts in a bowl on the table when everyone sits down. Make a big batch and keep them in a jar all week.

Greek meatballs with tzatziki, served alongside parmesan herb orzo and a middle eastern vegetable salad. Everything in the center of the table at the same time. Warm pita alongside for scooping up every last bit.

Honey Pie. Rich and a little unexpected and exactly the right amount of sweet after a meal built around herbs, lemon, and olive oil.

The Outfit

The two outfits for this week are casual and fun. Both include a cute t-shirt I have shared before, paired with either jeans or a striped skirt. I am always including a sweater in these outfits for those cool evenings, and I love a red striped sweater here, with an alternate option as well. The same sandals show up again this week, and I am also loving this bow to finish either look.

Everything from this post is linked in my ShopMy collection, along with a few extras.
